How to Reschedule an Appointment in Spanish
By Lingobi · Published on 10/25/2026
In Spanish, an appointment is una cita. Cambiar means to change something, while cancelar means to cancel it. That distinction matters when you still want the appointment, but need another day.
Podemos means “we can.” You can also use it in a question to suggest doing something together. For example, “¿Podemos hablar mañana?” means “Can we talk tomorrow?” Here, hablar means “to talk” and stays in its basic form after podemos.
Now imagine your appointment is on Thursday, but your work schedule has changed. Friday would be better. You want to keep the appointment and ask for a different day.
How would you ask: “Can we move the appointment to Friday?”

Once you have built the question, try asking for Monday instead. In a real conversation, have a second day in mind in case your first choice is full. Confirm the new day and time before you finish, so you both have the same details.
