Learn Spanish with Street Signs and Public Notices
By Lingobi · Published on 05/21/2025
If you’ve ever walked through a Spanish-speaking country, you’ve probably seen signs like Prohibido el paso or Baños. These public notices are a fun and natural way to build your Spanish vocabulary.
Common Spanish Signs
- Prohibido fumar – No smoking
- Salida – Exit
- Empuje – Push
- Jale – Pull
- Baños – Restrooms
- No hay paso – Do not enter
- Entrada – Entrance
Why This Works
Signs are short, repetitive, and easy to remember. I used to take pictures of signs while traveling and review them later. It was a fun way to learn without opening a textbook.
Try doing the same next time you're abroad—or even better, test yourself with real-world vocabulary in the Lingobi app.
