When I took a solo trip to Mexico City, I knew I’d get the chance to practice my Spanish—but I didn’t expect one of my best conversations to happen in an Uber. I had just landed, ordered a ride to my Airbnb, and ended up chatting with the driver about places to visit, the best food in the city, and a little bit of everything. It was simple Spanish, but it felt amazing to connect like that.
