The Spanish verb aprovechar is one you'll hear often in everyday conversations. While it's commonly translated as "to take advantage of", its meaning is usually positive. It refers to making good use of an opportunity, resource, or situation.
Once you understand how it's used, you'll start noticing it everywhere.
Match each phrase with its correct answer.

Voy a aprovechar el fin de semana para descansar.
I'm going to make the most of the weekend to relax.
Aprovecha esta oportunidad.
Take advantage of this opportunity.
Debemos aprovechar el buen clima.
We should make the most of the nice weather.
Notice that aprovechar is often better translated as make the most of rather than simply take advantage of.
